Call for Content for ICCI 360 Festival

September 13th – 18th 2010

ICCI (Innovation for the Creative & Cultural Industries) at the University of Plymouth, in partnership with Igloo Vision, is looking for exciting photographic, video, audio, graphic, animation and performance content to display in a 20 diameter panoramic arena during the ICCI 360 Festival, September 2010.

The festival arena, consisting of a huge dome incorporating a 63m x 6m high projection screen and performance space (the size of 7 double decker buses!), will use cutting edge digital technology with surround sound and high resolution projection facilities to provide a fantastic immersive 360 panoramic digital experience for audiences of all ages.

Located in Plymouth city centre for six days (13th – 18th September), ICCI360 Festival will present a programme of innovative screen based multimedia and performance work from leading international panoramic film makers, photographers, animation & graphic artists and performers as well as providing a showcase for community based projects through music, visual arts, new media, theatre and performance. The aim is to engage as wide an audience as possible using the theme of:

People, Places and Exploring New Spaces

This is a fantastic opportunity to create and present work on a massive, panoramic screen, which comprises of five screens displaying HD quality with surround sound; alongside emerging and established international and local talent. The multi-purpose arena has the capacity to display audio-visual, streaming broadcast material and host performance content to an audience of up to 1,000 people standing or 400+ people seated.

We would like to invite artists and workshop facilitators to submit proposals responding to this panoramic facility and theme outlined above. Expressions of interest should be submitted by the 29th April, with a description of your idea, a one page CV and any relevant images of your work or projects. The curatorial panel will meet on the 5th May to review work and successful applicants will have until 12th July to create and submit their work.

Technical information can be found on our web pages and support will be available throughout the project. If you have any questions, or would like to find out more about the panoramic screen, surround sound, etc; please do not hesitate to contact a member of the team.

3) Secret Wars Euro League at Soul Cellar  - using a black Edding paint pen in (creative) anger!

Secret Wars Euro League

Southampton Vs Dublin

Thursday 29th April @ Soul Cellar

Secret Wars began back in 2006, it was small, and intimate yet had the potential to be so much more. Years of hard work, dedication and a strong following has meant Secret Wars has pushed the boundaries and raised the bar for artists and promoters alike.

It’s all culminated to this, present day, present time, 17 European locations…The Secret Wars Euro League has finally arrived! Boasting a range of cities including London, Lisbon, Berlin, Copenhagen, Dublin, Amsterdam and many more proves that there really isn’t a stage big enough for the groundbreaking and award-winning event.

Southampton have been cruising through with two consecutive victories against Paris and Barcelona. Southampton now face one of their toughest challenges against a team that has taken a point away from Barcelona and beaten team Paris 3-0 away from home!!

So make sure you come down as Secret Wars introduces 'A clash of the titans' style battle.

The rules are simple, artists have 90 minutes to paint using black Edding paint pens on a white backdrop, 3 artists against 3 and no sketches allowed!!

We've also got Polar Bear back down after he absolutely smashed it during the Barcelona battle...so if you missed out, here's another chance to see this amazing lyricist and poet perform live on stage!!

Doors open at 7pm!! Make sure you arrive early to avoid any disappointment as this will be a busy night for the Soul Cellar! We've got our resident Secret Wars DJ's on rotation, so lets show Dublin a great party atmosphere!

Door entry £3 and there's a load of drinks promos on the night. If you need more info contact southampton@secretwarseuroleague.com or jay@monorex.com

See you all there!
