Who is the course for?
  • Cinemas, film festivals and film societies who want to start of develop a programme of artists' film
  • Cross arts venues who want to integrate their cinema and gallery more comprehensively
  • Galleries and museums interested in forging links with cinemas
  • Independent curators working with film and video
What does the course cover?
 
An accessible and practical introduction to:
  • History of artists' moving image: exhibition and practice
  • Curating: key approaches and techniques
  • Audiences: effective approaches to audience development and overcoming barriers to interest
  • Marketing: creating successful promotional materials
  • Practicalities: technical and legal considerations
  • Case studies of successful projects
  • Key organisations and potential partners
