Bristol Music Foundation announces the launch of a brand new website for
artists in Bristol and the South West. In partnership with Venue magazine,
the new My Space site will feature special promotions on artists, labels
and more all year round plus a link to a very special download site that
will provide you with a hand-picked selection of the finest music Bristol
and the South West has to offer, all for free.
First up are 20 tracks to enjoy ahead of the Bristol Fringe (see below).

will provide you access to all of the tracks. The tracks will be played in
the Watershed in the run up to South West Sound 08, where in addition to
being able to vote on your favourites, you can also make use of special
Mscape packs which come preloaded with tracks, allowing you to plug in and

South West Music Forum
The Bristol Music Foundation has supported over the past two years the
development of music forums in every county across the South West. These
forums will individually provide one-stop representative bodies for music
in their area, and will deliver a variety of music development projects
and programmes individually and together across the region. All forums are
now in place and will be meeting for the first time on 24th April in
Bristol as the new South West Music Forum. The BMF will be hosting this
meeting and the SWMF.
We shall be reporting back on the meeting and the agreed first programmes
and projects.
SXSW 08
The BMF arranged a partnership with the organisers of SXSW in Austin Texas
that saw 12 businesses and 6 bands travel out together in March. We are
currently writing a report on the trip with the UKTI, who backed many of
the businesses and artists that headed out. We are developing this
programme with the UKTI that will see supported access to export and
overseas trading for Bristol and SW music businesses.
Much more on this to follow soon.
Thanks, and we hope to see you soon.
