White Lantern – An Award Winner

White Lantern became an award winner of distinction on Friday 14th March at the South West’s Media Innovation Awards held in Plymouth’s Holiday Inn Hotel.

The category “Collaboration Between Business & Young People” sponsored by growth by Rio, was seeking out creative, editorial, technical, or commercial innovation in a project where business and young people could be seen to be collaborating in a unique and innovative way.

Through a selection of shorts White Lantern explored the social and cultural tensions of being young and living in the shadow and the presence of the Pier. Each short film breathes life into the well worn topic of being young and under peer pressure but adding the unique twist of how the proximity of the Pier can exert a different influence of its own. Young people from around the region were given the opportunity to explore their own film making talent under the creative guidance of Adam Merrifield, Producer and Managing Director of White Lantern. He said:

“We really enjoyed working with the young people who inspired the project; it was an amazing opportunity to work with such dedicated and talented young people.  We are thrilled to be accepting this award and we would like to thank everyone who was involved in the project. Many thanks.”
