From advertising to crafts, television to digital design, a range of industries fall within the Creative Industries (CI) umbrella. These vital, knowledge-based industries help drive our economy forwards, contributing £60bn - or 7.3% - every year.
In the South West, however, many of these businesses are small scale and spread over a wide geographical area, thus finding it hard to access the cutting edge knowledge and resources to help them innovate and compete on the global stage.

The South West Creative Industries Innovation Network (iNet) has been set up by a consortium of specialists to address this need, supporting creative businesses to grow and prosper, helping to lift the UK economy out of recession.
Focusing on the three core areas of innovation, knowledge sharing and export, the CI iNet will develop a world-class resource for creative business and industry in the South West. Over three years, this ERDF-funded programme will result in the creation of new patents, products and services; generating new revenues for companies, new businesses and new jobs, and ultimately establishing a community of innovation in the region.
The iNet now seeks a Director to work with partners to develop and deliver this exciting £3.2m programme. The successful candidate will need to be an innovation professional with experience of running complex projects and a proven track record of commercial success. S/he will have the instincts and contacts to identify, develop and secure new business opportunities and revenue streams, resolving problems and managing risks.
