BFI 'Reframing Literacy' intitiative
Thursday 13th of November

On 13th and 14th November we will be hosting a conference at BFI Southbank marking the end of the first phase of our 'Reframing Literacy' intitiative.  We are very keen that you have the opportunity to come and find out what the programme achieved across England (see http://www.bfi.org.uk/education/research/teachlearn/pdf/reframing_literacy.pdf for the full story).  In short, over 60 local authorities engaged with short films to support the literacy curriculum in their schools.  During the conference we will have workshops presenting the outcomes in some of those LAs, and teacher presentations modelling the approaches we developed.  We will have keynotes from Frank Cottrell Boyce, Cary Bazalgette and Tim Rylands (who you really should Google!), and presentations from Jackie Marsh from Sheffield University and Tom Barrance from Media Education Wales.

The conference is being organised in partnership with UK Literacy Association, and supported by UKFC.  To register, please go to:  http://www.ukla.org/site/conferences/event/reframing_literacy/

Cost is £150 for both days; £100 for one day.
